Sports & Properties, Inc. (SPI) of Cary was selected by U.S. Figure Skating as the host organization for the 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina, January 22-30, 2011.
The Championships are U.S. Figure Skating's premier event. They featured over 260 of the nation's top skaters competing in women's, men's pairs, and ice dancing. The Championships received 10 hours of national network television coverage and were estimated to have an economic impact of approximately $30 million in the state of North Carolina.

National Champions at the senior level crowned in Greensboro were Ryan Bradley in Men's, Alissa Czisny in Ladies, Meryl Davis & Charlie White in Ice Dancing, and Caitlin Yankowskas & John Coughlin in Pairs.
The 2011 U.S. Championships were the first in the 97-year history of the Championships to feature the three major components of the event - Competition, Practice, and FanFest - all in one building, under one roof. This unique set-up drew rave reviews from skaters and fans alike and resulted in over 161,500 in total attendance onsite.
Hill Carrow, CEO of SPI, served as Chairman for the Championships. Faryn Driscoll, SPI's Client Services Manager, served as Director of Operations. SPI led a team management effort that included the Greensboro Sports Commission, Greensboro Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, North Carolina Amateur Sports, and North Carolina Figure Skating Clubs. The Championships also involved over 500 volunteers.
